Boo or Cheer

Due to the tons of requests regarding multiple subjects in the NFL I am going to make a lil bit of a schedule.  Today were gonna talk about Mcnabb heading back ta Philly.  And then tomorrow were gonna talk about a different division in the NFL besides the NFC North ha.  Then Saturday will be the NFL Pick em which hopefully will have more comments then last week.  Alright well lets get started with tadays topic of discussion.  If you have tuned inta ESPN this week this is all the buzz Donovan McNabb heading back to Philly in a division rivalry game.  To me this one be as exciting as Favre coming back to Lambeau but its pretty close.  There are a couple things people are going to be looking at in this game.  The first one which seems to be the biggest question is how will the Eagles fans react to McNabb.  Personally I really don't have a clue what they are gonna do.  I mean these are Philly fans were talking about.  I hope they would cheer for him considering it was not his idea to leave the team.  But all in all I would go 50/50 on this subject.  McNabb was the leader of this team for 10 seasons in which he had a pretty successful career.  Philadelphia's reasoning for getting rid of him was the have Kolb take over the team and become the next franchise QB.  But now Vick has taken over and it seems that there plan did not work.  Now the next question is who is the better QB, McNabb of Vick.  Looking at the first three games most would have to say Michael Vick.  Hell I would say Vick is the better man, but McNabb has something to prove ta the Eagles which makes him a very dangerous threat.  Michael Vick does have a bit of a advantage having a much better receiving core.  McNabb is really going to have to get Santana Moss the ball and hope the run game opens up the field.  Now the last question that remains is who will win the football game.  Once all the drama is over with McNabb returning to Philly it really comes down to who has the better team.  I am going to take a shot in the dark and go with the Redskins.  I really have faith in the coaching staff and the overall team.  I believe Vick is a great player but I am just not sure if he can keep this lights out performance up for the whole season, and if there is a game where he might fall apart this could be the one.  My prediction is 28-21 Washington, its going to be close but the vet is going to pull it out.  Now its your turn to leave your opinion lets keep up the high volume of comments so tell everyone you know and lets turn this into a heated discussion.  And remember make sure to click on the ads on the right of the web page it drives traffic from other sites and gets more people to the blog.--------Mikey C

The Black and Blue

Due to the record numbers of yesterdays blog I only found it fitting that we discuss the NFC North a little further.  Personally after Monday knight I have lost any faith of a true contender in this division.  So lets go through all four teams.  Starting with the worst the Detroit Lions.  This team could be the weakest team in the NFL and after the Rams beat the Redskins they most likely are.  Every year Lions fans believe that there team is better and that they will be .500 this year.  The truth is the Lions are long way away from a .500 season they need ta clean house and start from scratch.  A realistic goal for a .500 season for these guys would be about three years once Stafford has fully developed his QB skills.  Now ta the third worst team in this division the Minnesota Vikings.  I must say I am shocked at this years performance thus far.  I really thought they would take that loss at the end of the 2010 season and use it to spark up a good start this year.  Instead they almost started the season 0-3.  There are many things wrong with this team, and there are some really good things about this team.  Number one they have some injury problems and it would help ta have your whole team every week.  Number two and I believe this is the biggest problem, they got Brett Favre.  And they don't have the great charismatic gonna throw bombs for touchdowns Favre they got the I am going ta throw a whole lot of interceptions Favre.  I mean he has pretty much thrown as many picks in three games then he did all of last season.  Ya the Vikes got Peterson and a semi-tough defense, but be honest the don't look like the same team as last year.  I have the Vikes going 8-8 and praying that Favre hangs it up finally.  The next team is the Green Bay Packers.  As I can see it most of my readers are Packer fans so I will let you defend yourself.  The way I see it is amazing quarterback, great D-Fense, decent wide outs, and after that it gets sad real sad.  Unless GB wants ta get 18 penalties a game they need ta get a whole new offensive line.  I think its bad enough that these guys are still there.  The offsides and holding calls were going on all of last year and they have done nothing to combat this problem.  But the biggest problem with Green Bay the one thing that is holding them back from being a contender is Mike McCarthy.  Sorry guys this coach is not the answer, he proved that again on Monday.  Packers are gonna go 9-7 this year. Now the final team the Chicago Bears the best of the worst you could say.  The Bears work like this, "hey we don't have a offense but we got a killer D that gets turnovers and a special teams that produces touchdowns".  But you know what that works for the Bears that's all they need ta win this division.  They made it all the way ta the Superbowl playing this type of football.  The only thing that has changed really is they got a really good QB now.  Now I cant say that the Bears are gonna go ta the Superbowl this year because I believe the league has gotten a lot tougher since they made it.  But I will say the Bears go 11-5 and make it to the playoffs and are the only team in the NFC North ta do so.  I know bold statement, especially since I know a lot of the readers are fans of this division.  But am I really far off here, I don't think so.  Now I am thankful for how the blog blew up yesterday and now we need a repeat day.  So leave your comments and tell everyone you know, also click on the ads and links on the right hand side of this web page it increases popularity and traffic to the blog.---------------Mikey C

Top Teams Tumble Week 3

This week in the NFL four games truly surprised me.  The first game will come as no surprise to my readers.  The Saints and Falcons.  I agree with the team when they say if they executed better throughout the game that it wouldn't have come to that situation.  But isn't the kicker there just in case it does come to that.  And shouldn't a kicker in the NFL who gets paid to kick all day everyday be able to make a 29 yard field goal.  Now the Saints say they are going to pick up another  kicker but keep Hartley as well.  This is not the right choice, Hartley has missed three field goals already this year and none of them were really far away.  In short a kicker is paid ta kick so please a message to all NFL kickers don't miss 29 yarders it shines a bad light on kickers everywhere.  On to my next week three upset.  The Redskins fall to the Rams.  In a recent blog I picked the Redskins as my wild card team in the NFL which meant I would keep an eye on them and they could make a move late in the season.  I still hold true to that statement because what I saw against the Rams really didn't scare me.  The St. Louis Rams for the first time in three seasons actually executed the game plan and had a remarkable game.  The Rams are not going to have this type of performance week in and week out.  The Redskins could have done a way better job throughout the game but I believe they just got the Rams in a breakout game.  In short I still believe the Redskins will impress this season and the Rams are still terrible.  The third game that surprised me is Dallas and Houston.  I know you have heard me say that Houston is the second best team in the league, so I am not going to try and defend Houston.  They flat out got beat by the Cowboys.  Dallas realized that they could not fall to 0-3 and needed a win desperately.  The Texans lights out offense did not show up to the game.  I don't expect this to happen a whole lot this year but its scary for Texans fans when you play like that.  In short Cowboys your not going to play the Superbowl in your stadium this year get that pipe dream out of your head, AND PLEASE EVERYONE STOP TALKING ABOUT IT.  Dallas sucks, Jerry Jones sucks, Wade Phillips sucks, and Tony Romo sucks.  Time for some house cleaning at the end of the year.  Texans your fine but I cant say your the second best team anymore.  Finally the last team ta tumble in week 3 is.....drum roll please.....................Da Bears and Da Packers.  Why did the Packers lose you ask lets take a look........Hmmmmm.....what could it be, what could it be..............HOW ABOUT 18 PENALTIES.  Green Bay that is just sad, you cant expect to win any games doing that.  They might as well get rid of the whole offensive line because they flat out suck.  If they don't jump offsides, they will hold defenders cuz they cant block worth s***.  Nothing else has to be said Green Bay you get one really big "COME ON MAN".

College Football Pick Em

Its Friday so what better thing to talk about than college football.  Saturday is right around the corner and its about time we talk about it.  Glen told me to a pick em on Saturday, which will happen for the NFL games, but on Fridays I am going to start a college pick em.  I will pick 3 games then a upset and a wild card.  Basically kind of like Fox does it on Sundays.  You follow my three games and then pick the other two.  I am a little hung over taday so I am just going to say the games and not really go into why I am picking them.  But I really wanna hear from the readers, that's what this blog is all about.  So here we go game 1-Alabama vs Arkansas I'm picking Bama.  Game 2- Oregon State vs Boise State I'm picking Boise State.  Game 3-West Virginia vs LSU I'm picking LSU (if you can watch this game please do LSU's return man is freaky fast).  Now for my upset pick I'm going Notre Dame over Stanford.  Finally my wild card game I am taking South Carolina ta beat Auburn.  Alright your turn now, and on tomorrow's blog I will do the NFL Pick em for all of the football games we will see who is the best at picking college and NFL games good luck.

Top Teams In The NFL

Alright in tadays blog I'm going to tell you who I believe are the top four teams in the NFL and then pick a wild card team who I pick as a possible upset team.  I will explain why I think there one of the top teams.  And then I want to hear from anyone else who you think your top teams are in the NFL.  I am going to start with my number 4 team.  The Green Bay Packers and Aaron Rogers are certainly a team to lookout for this year.  They are going to struggle in the run game after losing Ryan Grant for the year, but if they share carries with Jackson and Kuhn I don't see to much of a problem.  Especially considering that Grant wasn't a huge contributor any ways.  The reason I have the Packers at 4 is because I am not completely sold yet.  They scared me how they let the Eagles waltz back into the game and the last two years haven't shown that there a strong playoff team.  At my number three team I have the Indianapolis Colts.  They have one loss this year but still seem to be one of the teams to beat in the NFL.  Peyton Manning is still one of the best QB's ever to play the game and doesn't show signs of slowing down.  Once the Colts get rolling and fix the little things there is no reason that they cant make a repeat performance in the Super Bowl.  At number two I have the Houston Texans.  Now I know your shocked but just look at this team.  As of right now the Texans have to have the scariest offense out there.  Matt Schaub is in the top 5 qbs, Arian Foster is number 1 rb, and Andre Johnson is top 5 wr's.  And lets not forget that they beat the Colts to start the season.  Its time to take a serious look at the Texans and not pass them off anymore, if they get rolling they can go all the way ta the big show at the end of the season.  My number one team should come as no surprise.  The New Orleans Saints last years Super Bowl Champions.  They are currently 2-0 and are starting an easy portion of there schedule.  Drew Brees might not be lighting up the stat sheet but their winning football games.  This is very similar to last years season.  The Saints won a lot of games in the fourth quarter.  This is exactly the reason why their such a dangerous team, you can get the lead on them but their gonna come back and beat ya.  Just look at the Super Bowl they outscored the Colts 25-7 in the second half.  It will be hard to repeat but not out of the question watch out for who dat nation.  Now onto my wild card/upset team.  How about the Washington Redskins.  They finally look like a team that any opponent should be afraid of.  The reason is they made one huge addition to the team this year.  No its not McNabb, try Mike Shanahan.  He is one of the most unique coaches out there and is going to help this team out a lot this year.  Personally I think this team would have done the same with Jason Camble or D Nab.  If Haynesworth can see eye to eye with the coaches this D will get stronger and the team will have success.  Ok now its time to hear from all of you guys, just pick your four teams and a wild card and share your opinion on everyone elses picks.------------Mikey C

Vick Gets The Nod, Favre Gets Two Thumbs Down

Alright Andy Reid its about time you get your head out of you a**.  Michael Vick has shown that he should be the starter of the Eagles, and its a joke that it took this long for Philly ta realize this.  Kolb may be good in a year or two but right now its about winning football games.  Therefore you want the guy that is going to give you the best chance to win, that's Vick.  Vick has shown that he can be a premier QB after throwing some impressive passes last week.  Well enough about Vick it does not really surprise me, what does surprise me is how the infamous Brett Favre has fallen apart.  This year Brett Favre has done absolutely nothing for his team.  I understand that there has been some injury on the wide receiving core but that's not the problem.  I think football lovers everywhere have witnessed the fall of Favre.  He is no spring chicken anymore and age has caught up to him.  After getting demolished in the NFC Championship game last year and needing ankle surgery, it took to much out of him.  When they show Brett on the sidelines he doesn't seem to have that same love for the game that he used to.  Its going to be a real test for Favre if the Vikings end up getting Vincent Jackson.  No longer can the excuse be made of no receiver due to injury as Jackson is one of the best in the game.  In closing watch out for Vick he is the starter but now he has a lot of pressure to perform, and for Favre you should retired and starting riding on your trator, would have been more fun for ya.  Leave your comments below.-----------Mikey C

The Real Deal Blog (for real this time)

I was gonna wait till tomorrow to put my first real blog up, but watching TV and looking on the Internet I am completely disgusted.  What am I disgusted about........well you sit back and I will tell you.  Football fans this blog is for you.  The New Orleans Saints win once again last knight beating the 49ers with a last second field goal.  I will be the first to admit Drew Brees does not look like the same player that he was last year but he is still Drew Brees let him shake the cobwebs off.  Which is where I get to my disgusted portion of the blog.  Sports broadcasters dare to say that the Saints are no longer the best team in the NFL, how can this be true.  In my mind if you win the Super Bowl your the best team.  Ok so now if the next year starts and no one has beat you yet, your still the best team.  Some sports people out there are going as far as saying that the Pittsburgh Steelers are the best team in the NFL.  That has to be a joke, I don't care if they are 2-0 they are on there 4th string quarterback.  The steelers have now beat the falcons and titans, two teams that did absolutely nothing at all last year.  I'm sorry Pittsburgh fans but to consider yourself the top team two games into the year with Batch as your leading man is just wrong to football fans everywhere.  Now lets take a serious look at some true contenders out there in the league that thus far has been filled with upsets across the board.  My top three teams in the AFC would be 3. Baltimore Ravens  2. Indianapolis Colts   1.  Houston Texans.   In the NFC  3. Washington Redskins   2.  Green Bay Packers   1.  New Orleans Saints.   If your wondering where the giants and jets are its simple they are not that great.  The jets Defense is amazing I realize that and yes they did just beat the patriots.  But lets just be honest for a moment here is Mark Sanchez really going to be able to keep that type of performance up,  I think not.  So in short here is what I am saying the Saints are still number 1.  The Steelers have no realistic shot at the playoffs this year and watch out for the Texans they truly are contenders this year with Arian Foster leading the way.  Leave your comments below.----------Mikey C
