Top Teams In The NFL

Alright in tadays blog I'm going to tell you who I believe are the top four teams in the NFL and then pick a wild card team who I pick as a possible upset team.  I will explain why I think there one of the top teams.  And then I want to hear from anyone else who you think your top teams are in the NFL.  I am going to start with my number 4 team.  The Green Bay Packers and Aaron Rogers are certainly a team to lookout for this year.  They are going to struggle in the run game after losing Ryan Grant for the year, but if they share carries with Jackson and Kuhn I don't see to much of a problem.  Especially considering that Grant wasn't a huge contributor any ways.  The reason I have the Packers at 4 is because I am not completely sold yet.  They scared me how they let the Eagles waltz back into the game and the last two years haven't shown that there a strong playoff team.  At my number three team I have the Indianapolis Colts.  They have one loss this year but still seem to be one of the teams to beat in the NFL.  Peyton Manning is still one of the best QB's ever to play the game and doesn't show signs of slowing down.  Once the Colts get rolling and fix the little things there is no reason that they cant make a repeat performance in the Super Bowl.  At number two I have the Houston Texans.  Now I know your shocked but just look at this team.  As of right now the Texans have to have the scariest offense out there.  Matt Schaub is in the top 5 qbs, Arian Foster is number 1 rb, and Andre Johnson is top 5 wr's.  And lets not forget that they beat the Colts to start the season.  Its time to take a serious look at the Texans and not pass them off anymore, if they get rolling they can go all the way ta the big show at the end of the season.  My number one team should come as no surprise.  The New Orleans Saints last years Super Bowl Champions.  They are currently 2-0 and are starting an easy portion of there schedule.  Drew Brees might not be lighting up the stat sheet but their winning football games.  This is very similar to last years season.  The Saints won a lot of games in the fourth quarter.  This is exactly the reason why their such a dangerous team, you can get the lead on them but their gonna come back and beat ya.  Just look at the Super Bowl they outscored the Colts 25-7 in the second half.  It will be hard to repeat but not out of the question watch out for who dat nation.  Now onto my wild card/upset team.  How about the Washington Redskins.  They finally look like a team that any opponent should be afraid of.  The reason is they made one huge addition to the team this year.  No its not McNabb, try Mike Shanahan.  He is one of the most unique coaches out there and is going to help this team out a lot this year.  Personally I think this team would have done the same with Jason Camble or D Nab.  If Haynesworth can see eye to eye with the coaches this D will get stronger and the team will have success.  Ok now its time to hear from all of you guys, just pick your four teams and a wild card and share your opinion on everyone elses picks.------------Mikey C

  1. I'm going to be short and to the point. #4 Pitt Steelers. Killer defense and 2-0 without Big Ben. Shutdown CJ2k, impressive. #3 Pack A-Rodge and Clay r studs, Jackson every bit as good as Grant, and if secondary gets healthy a top Superbwo pick. #2 Colts, AFC champs lost an early one to Houston but Peyton is Peyton. Looks like and improved ground attack this year as well and they are used to playing withoug Bob Sanders. #1 Reging Superbowl champs, Saints. Start out 2-0 hard to argue that. Reggie Bush injury may hurt, means more to the offense than even his stats show. Wildcard: KC, Have youth, new Arrowhead, and momentum. I see them competing for an unstable AFC west.

  2. Andy Skarda I can see where your coming from with all of those teams except Pitt. Thats a joke look who they have beaten no one worth while. I dont care if you can hold Chris Johson ta 40 yards when they start playing some more diverse offenses were going ta see how bad the steelers really are with or without big ben who lets not forget isnt that speacial of a qb anymore.

  3. 4. Colts- I honestly have no reasoning what so ever to rank the Colts as the 4th best team. I just have a hunch that they are not going to have that great of a season. Their D is questionable to say the least. Yes they played well against the Giants....but its the Giants they are not that great this year. Colts run defense obviously has some issues, though they due counter that problem with an excellent offense. 3. My beloved Packers. I do believe A Rodge and company have a good chance at making a Super Bowl run. Why are they not in the number 2 spot? Run game and a scary defense at times. As you stated Mike, i couldnt help but sit in awe as the Eagles came back. The run game has always been scary. Whether we are talking about grant, jackson, or kuhn i have never really been comfortable with the running game...at all. I hoping there is a trade to go down in the future. 2. Texans, which if they keep winning and the Saints keep struggling they will be moved to number 1. Texans passing game is scary, and adding foster to the equation is lethal. I know it may be a surprise that i ranked them this high, but they are the real deal. And 1. Saints until proven otherwise
