Moss Back In Minnesota

Well its official Randy Moss is once again a Minnesota Viking.  The New England Patriots will trade him for a third round pick.  The Pats new that they were not going to have him for another year due to his contract coming to an end, and the Pats were not going to pay him anything high.  So Moss goes back to where he was drafted.  What does this do for everything.  Does it make the Vikings a better team, how about Superbowl contenders, will Favre want to back another year now?  The Vikings will be a better team I mean Moss is one of the best wide outs to ever play the game.  The scary thing is that Favre and Moss go together great.  Moss has height and hands ta go up and catch those deep passes that Brett enjoys throwing.  And with the lack of receivers healthy right now Moss knows he is going to have passes coming to him all game long.  What does this do ta the NFC North now.  A few blogs ago I had put the Vikings at third in that division.  You can say that this is a long shot but I am shooting the Vikings straight to number one in this division.  Its not because I think Randy Moss is going to single handily going to score six touchdowns a game, not saying that at all.  The thing you have to realize is the effect that this trade will have on the teams moral.  Getting a big play maker on your offense like Randy Moss spikes confidence in how you play football.  And the number one guy on this team that needs confidence is Favre.  Favre hasn't even looked like he wants to play football the last three games.  But I bet coming off a bye week and finding out that you get Randy Moss ta throw to will make you the happiest man in the world.  The Vikings missed on Vincent Jackson earlier this year but wow they struck gold with Moss.  They get him for a third round pick.  This is the part I disagree with.  Your telling me an unproven third round rookie is the same worth as Moss.  You have to be crazy.  I know Moss is old but he will play for at least two more years most likely more.  I can not wait to see who the Pats draft in the third round off this pick.  Finally you have to think about the Pats, how will they do losing Moss.  One word "FINE", I mean ya they will miss him but look at the stat book.  Moss doesn't have anything yet this year.  Brady is the Key in New England and he will make great receivers out of average receivers.  Well I am going to cut this short I am more excited to start to hear about your opinions.  So leave your comments, and please click on the ads on the right we didn't drive to much outside traffic yesterday and there were really not many clicks on ads.  AND TELL EVERYONE YOU KNOW.-----------Mikey C

  1. the real scary part is when sidney rice comes back from injury. most teams just dont have the corners to cover a team with two wideouts who require double coverage, and then a nickelback capable of keeping up with harvin. if favre can keep his geriatric body together this could be a great offense. its easily the most talent favre has ever been surrounded by. too bad for him it comes when hes 40 years old. if favre were 5 years younger this team would easily be a lock for the super bowl even with a shaky secondary. this oughta tighten up the divisional race a bit but i still believe that the pack will take it as grandpa favre wears down at the end of the season.

  2. Before this trade it was a toss up to me on who would win the north. This trade has established the Vikings as the clear frontrunner. Where this really matters is in division games. Right now the Packers are on their 3rd string safety and lets face it, Moss demands a safety over the top, even Woodson shouldn't be expected to shut down Moss all by himself. The Bears secondary is decent but will also have to double Moss. The scary part is now this opens things up for AP who was already running like a monster. When Sidney Rice gets back there is no reason the Vikings shouldn't have the best offense in the NFL.

  3. Glen best offense in the NFL? Not so sure yet you cant jump to conclusions until you actually see them all play together I agree though they might have it but lets just wait and see. I still dont see the Vikes really doing to much in the playoffs but I do think they will make it now with a 10-6 season.

  4. I said there is no reason, because on paper they have two pro bowl receivers, a pro bowl tight end, an elite RB and a qb who has the arm. How they will click none of us know till they play.

  5. thats right and I for one am pretty excited to see how Favre plays with an elite WR, its either going to be great or pathetic cuz he is too old

  6. physically hes wayy too old, but the guy has so much experience I find it hard that he would struggle for an entire season.

  7. he wont struggle the entire season he is just going to struggle durring the most important part the end of the season, he has done it like the last three seasons he is just too old

  8. You can't say the Viqueens won't be a better team with Moss. He is still capable of making great plays. He does have an attitude, which Favre will probably keep in check, but Moss can be very unpredictable. Once Minnesota gets Cindy Rice back, their offense will look up to par once again.

  9. not sure what you are referencing to on that Favre thing Chupita, he didn't struggle at all at the end of last year, in fact he went on a tear, he had a couple average games late season, but between the last 2 reg season games and the playoffs Favre threw 11 tds and 2 picks.

  10. Great Post Mike. They are the only team in the NFC North that found a way to break their fall and it makes them the top contender to come out of the dreadful division with the least amount of damage. It doesn't make them the elite team, but if any North team is going to win the NFC, Minnesota is the only sane choice. But, I'll wait and see if Moss's addition will really bring Favre back to winning form. He can only be as good as his QB.

  11. their line scares me as well, it's not as bad as the Packers and Bears lines, but it's the worst Vikings line in years.

  13. it obvioulsy is going to make them a much better team and a huge threat as long as Brett can be a quarterback. Hes has shown flashes that he can still play the game but he just doesnt look like a great quarterback. If moss is what he needs to do that so be it. It does make for a good line up when rice get back and then stick percy in the slot. With injuries in the packers secondary it is kinda scary to see a threat like moss in our division. Harris and Bigby will be back when we play them first but it still is going to be a fun matchup.

  14. i am also amazed that they only got a 3rd round pic for him, i mean he is old and all but the guy can play.

  15. Well I will hate to see what Minnesota will do when Favre and Moss both retire because they both are nearing that stage.

  16. Moss is 3+ years away from retiring, and I think they will survive with Sidney Rice. QB is going to be an issue though. If they can turn Joe Webb into a polished qb he could be real good. It will be interesting to see what Webb and TJack look like when they get a chance again.
