NFC South vs NFC North

Alright due to the lack of traffic and comments on the last couple of blogs I figured I would go for the sure thing.  And it looks like the readers like the NFC North, and the writer likes himself some NFC South.  So in this blog I am going to go through each team and say who would win and who would lose.  Its going to be short and sweet, I am more excited to see the comments.  So lets start out with the easy one.  The New Orleans Saints.  Not much of a shocker here I am going to say no one in the NFC North can beat them.  The Vikes couldn't so I don't perceive any other team standing a chance.  Next the Atlanta Falcons.  I am give them a win against the Lions, Bears, and Packers.  I think the Vikes could actually beat this team, the Packers don't play fool proof football so I give them the loss.  You might be thinking that "hey the falcons beat the saints but why cant they beat the Vikes" well the Saints had injuries on defense and offense, and we wont be missing any 34 yard field goals any more.  Next up is the Tampa Bay Bucs.  I have them winning two games in the North.  They beat the Bears and the Lions.  The Bears game would be really close but unless they can come up with an offense that isn't so risky their not going to win any close ones.  The Vikes and Packers wouldn't have a problem with the Bucs.  The Pack gave them there first win last year but I don't perceive that happening again (unless they have the creamsicle jerseys on HA).  And the last team the Carolina Panthers, well north I am going ta give you this one.  I have them getting beat by all of the teams except one.  The Lions, I know that Detroit looks a lot better and they have a good team but not good enough.  Once Jimmy C gets the jitters out he can win a game or two.  So lets recap here.  I give the NFC South 10 games out of a possible 16.  Its hard ta argue those games(but I hope you do).  The South is miles up on the North.  Alright I didn't lie when I said it was going to be short and sweet.  I want to see record breaking page views and comments.  Tell everyone you know and share the link on your facebook profile or any other social networking site you have.  And please click on the ads the ad numbers have gone down and the blog really needs some outside traffic brought in.  <><>NFC NORTH vs NFC SOUTH<><> How do you stack them up.---------Mikey C

  1. it was a 29 yarder mike lol. and I don't agree with this, the Falcons are the best team in both leagues in my mind, and lets not bring up injuries as a reason the Saints lost because I could the say Vikings would have beat the Saints with Sidney Rice or the Pack would have beat the Bears with Al Harris etc.. No one from the north right now could take the Falcons, but I could see the Packers and Vikings beating the Saints. Yes the Saints already beat the Vikings but if they faced again with Moss I think the Vikings would have pulled it off, Moss' effect on the team remains to be seen however. The Packers have so many injuries that I'm starting to withdraw my predictions about this team. Now Barnett is out for the year too. Agree with the Bucs pick and the Panthers would get swept by the north.

  2. Glen I can not believe you would actually say the Packers would beat the Saints, the game would not even be close, and the Vikes, Saints played a horrible game against them, wether the Vikes had Moss or not if NO plays them again the Saints would walk over the Vikes, I cant believe you would say that haha and no I really believe the Panthers would beat the Lions

  3. Falcons sweep the North, Saints Sweep, Bucs 2-2, beating lions and packers, Panthers 2-2, beating bears and lions. South wins 12-4. I haven't seen any impressive play out of the North yet, but they all have correctable flaws and could prolly beat the South later in the season. Its tough to define leagues this early in the season anyhow. Its how you play down the stretch that matters. Right now the NFC North is like the SEC in regard that they are beating up on eachtother, but its not because every team is SO good.

  4. I think im going to have to agree with Glen on this one Mikey. Saints havent played good enough football to be claimed the best team in both divisions. The falcons have proved dominance so far and i dont think the north could take them. The Pack has a lot to get over. Losing Barnett is big, im kinda glad we didnt trade A.J now. I think the Bears will beat both the panthers and bucs easily. The lions are not a bad team and the way the panthers are playing i give the lions the win. Mike i do believe today's post is a little biased (dont worry we are all guilty of it.)

  5. I don't believe the Saints are the best in the south and the Vikings have not yet proved to be the best in the north. So i wouldn't go to say just because the Vikes didn't beat the saints nobody else in the north can. Packers obviously have injuries to get over but can be still be a very dangerous team. Lions would beat Panthers. Lions have been competitive with every team in the north but have come up just a little short in each of those games. Falcons are probably the most dominant of the 8 teams. I see the Falcons taking the south with the Saints getting a wild card. In the north it will be a toss up between Packers, Bears, and Viqueens.

  6. Walk all over? don't kid yourself Mike, this years Saints team is nothing like last year, the Saints 3 wins have come by a combined 10 points. Oh and how good were those teams they beat? a combined 1-10 record. Saints are not a great team this year and the only reason they are 3-1 is because they have played 2 teams that are yet to win a game.

  7. Judge get off the Panthers dick, I think Clausen could be good in a couple years, but hes not Sam Bradford, he cant save that team, without Peppers the Panthers win 0 games against the north. Frankly the Bears without Cutler would be their only shot at a victory against the north.

  8. First off the Packers I think are able to sweep the south. they might slip up here and there but more times than not, they will beat the teams of the south. second, the vikings already lost to the saints in a game where they looked real bad. i also dont believe that they beat the falcons until sidney rice has been playing a few weeks. i give them a lose there. the bears do not have the ability to match up with the saints or falcons unless either team self destructs like GB did. with their inconsistency i could also see them dropping a game to either tampa or carolina. lastly the poor lions would get swept.

  9. Packers wouldn't sweep, not a chance, no running game, no line, and a very dismantled secondary wont cut it. I thought they were Super Bowl contenders to start the year, they look worse and worse with each passing week.

  10. a_schetter this really isnt biased this is what would happen if these teams played. The Pack is an ok team with major penalty problems and line issues. The Vikes just because they aquire Randy Moss doesnt mean they just became the team to beat in the NFC. Lets be serious here. The Saints and Falcons are both great teams here. Saints have the edge though even if the Falcons did win the first game this year. Look at the injuries the Saints had on offense without Reggie Bush who is the such an asset ta the way this offense performs. And no Darren Sharper who was the heart of this teams D a season ago. Dont let a couple games get to your head this is the same Saints team as last year they had a ton of close win games last year. And as for the few who say the Pack would sweep I admire the loyalty but lets be serious HA.

  11. The packers had one game where they had penalty problems lol that doesnt mean they have major penalty problems. There line sucked last year too lets not forgot. Rodgers still ended up putting some of the best numbers in the nfl. i am expecting James stark to be a good back for the packers. This is not even close to the same saints team as last year. they have beat nobody teams. As have the packers. i wont deny that. i think they both have a lot to prove. I never said that the packers would sweep. A saint packer game would be a good one.

  12. a_schetter the Packers led the NFL in penalties last year and they are leading again this season I believe. Saints Packers would be most likely a 28-14 win by the Saints.

  13. The Packers could easily compete with the Saints the Aints scrambled to beat the goddam Panthers. Every excuse you give the Saints can be applied to the Pack too except for penalties but that was one game.

  14. To say this is the same Saints team but that the Vikings are so much worse than last year is complete bias, you cant be on one boat and not the other. I don't understand at all how you can say that the Saints would be back to dominate form when they had Reggie for a couple games and still weren't that good, but that the Vikings are awful Sidney Rice or not. The post isn't biased but the comments are, you can't write off other peoples comments and them use the same excuse to back up your team.

  15. and your facts are off too, the Saints barely won any close games last year, if this were the same team they wouldn't be barely getting by scrum teams. The Saints last year had 2 reg season games decided by field goals the rest were pretty much blowouts. I really hope your just trying to stir debate on here because you can't honestly believe what you are posting.

  16. i said that the post was biased because i dont believe the south is "miles up on the north" I dont think that panthers and bucs could beat any team in the north. a 10-16 record is a biased statement because some of those wins are saints wins that i dont believe they would get.

  17. to an extent but I don't think it's as bad as his excuses for the Saints offense. Calling the Saints great this year is a joke too. I think we just shouldn't talk about the Saints at all because we can't even get a constructive argument.

  18. Alright for starters I never said that the panthers and bucs could beat any team in the north you can look at the original blog. And to say that I am being bias is not correct either. The Saints are the Super Bowl Champions. They have the exact same team except for a couple defenders. This is why I have them as the best team. They may look shaky but they are still winning there games except for the Falcons game which they took care of that problem but bringing in a new kicker for field goals. I believe they can beat the vikings because they already did. I believe they can beat the Packers because there offense is to diverse for there defense. I believe they can beat the Bears because the Bears offense would not be able to keep up. I believe they could beat the lions because Detroit is a couple years away from being a solid team. If you want to call this bias or just looking at the facts?? you decide

  19. actually you did, you said the Panthers would beat the Lions. I'm just saying you have said in other posts that the Vikings are so much worse this year Rice or not, yet they could have very easily been in the Super Bowl last year instead of the Saints, it took 7 turnovers for the Saints to win. Not saying the Vikings are better, but to say the Saints would stomp them is an absolute joke, they could play 10 times this year and their would be no way they beat the Vikes by more than 7 in any game. Last years Saint's team was dominate, this year they are scraping by against nobodys. They are good, not great, and they arent a couple of players from being great.

  20. idk about this one the NFC North overall is a better division but the NFC South has the two best teams. this is a though one for me to pick i think that it will be up to the bears and lions if the battle can be one for NFC north but idk the games will have to be played and the packers need a RB sooo what ever.

  21. Glen a_schetter stated that I said the Panthers and Bucs could beat "any team" I did not say any team and yes I do believe the Panthers would beat the lions, pretty easily too.
